When our family visited Carrie in Portsmouth

Created by Ms 5 years ago

I have sent a picture of Carrie, Me and my daughter Emma sitting on her sofa back in 2008.  Carrie and I have been members of QWHT (Now FaithandFabric) for many years.  Carrie and I are the only members from the Uk, with all the other members living in the USA.  The reason for the chat group was to talk about the love of quilting, home educating and our faith.  We talked about way more than that.  We knew each other like we lived next door to each other in real life.

One Summer my then husband Steve, Emma and me had an extended holiday in London, the New Forest and Dorset.  On our journey we went to Portsmouth to visit Carrie.  We had a wonderful couple of hours together.  Carrie cooked for us all and the last time I spoke to Carrie she said she will always remember Emma dancing round and round a particular rug that she had.  Emma has autism and things like that fascinated her.  In the picture that I have sent we were laughing at something - I can't remember what it was but that is how I will remember Carrie.  That and the great advice she always gave each and every one of the QWHT members if we needed it.

I love you dear Carrie and you will always be in our hearts.
